"Lori & Jeff" August 28th 2010

A very good friend of mine fell in love. Within a year she was engaged to be married.
Lori & Jeff were destined to be together...

When Lori called to give me the wonderful news, she would also ask the big question... would I like to photograph their special day? She was concerned... she asked me if I'd want to work at her wedding, or would I rather just relax and have fun? When I answered, I said, "Honey! I'll just have to do both!" That was not a problem.

Jeff & Lori had a beautiful backyard wedding, on the river.
The beginning of the day was spent watching the forecast, which was only 20% chance of precipitation... in the morning! Well, it rained all day long.
I am so relieved we decided to leave the plans as they were, and have the wedding outdoors. After all, the guests would arrive for the nuptials with umbrellas right? Yep!
We were so lucky, because the heavy rain didn't start until immediately after the ceremony.
It was perfect.

The outdoor photos afterward were a bit of a challenge, although I really do feel that the rain added to the day, in a fun way! Friends of Lori's own a 4 story studio, right in the heart of the exchange in Winnipeg. Micheline And Pat were extremely gracious hosts! Let's not forget Juliette. Lori even had the chance to have one of Pat's famous martini's. Lucky Lori. We shot photos inside, as well as on the rooftop, thanks again Mark for being the umbrella man ;)

Afterward, we headed to the Officers Mess Hall for the Reception. What an amazing dinner they put on! Hats off to them. Well I could go on and on, but you are here to check out their photos, so please enjoy! It was a fabulous day and evening,
and a beautiful beginning :)

Enjoy!
