Kelsey & Dan ~ April 4, 2009

I haven't posted much since I started this blog, so I've decided to post a day which I feel, has changed my life in photography...

Meet Dan and Kelsey Kosman ~ I've known Kelsey since she was only 1 year old, and when she asked me to photograph her wedding day, I had a mixture of many emotions. Having only photographed children, families, and high school seniors, I felt very overwhelmed at the thought of a day that would never be repeated. Now, having known Kelsey all her life, I knew she was a woman who put a lot of thought into every choice she made, and that this meant a lot to her and her new husband-to-be. There was also a feeling of great pride. Being able to be a part of every moment of this, most amazing day of a girl I've watched grow into a beautiful young woman, well... Wow. How could I possibly say no?

So, I threw myself into wedding research, rented extra equipment, and here are the results! I am very, very proud to say that I have one very happy couple! Although I've learned a lot in both photography, and editing since then, I would not change a moment from that day (ok, maybe different shoes, ha ha). I grew as a photographer that day, and have since photographed engagement sessions, one wedding, and have a few more weddings booked for this coming summer. Thanks to K&D for an amazing opportunity, and for the beginning of something wonderful!!

Please enjoy these photos, and if you know anyone who is getting married, and likes my photojournalistic style in photography, you can share my blog (by clicking on share), or send me an e-mail. My address is in the bar along the top. I promise to capture every 'real moment' possible.

Enjoy!
Sheri

I start you off with my favorite of the day...

˙˙˙˙˙˙

Moving into "Getting Ready"
We started early with hair and make-up at "Sets on Fourth".
I love the lighting in this one... the sun started coming in as they were finishing up.
Kelsey takes a moment, on the way home to get ready
Bride and her girls. All Sisters soon...
We snuck over to catch a few of the Groom getting ready.
and ring bearer...

Too cute... Dan helping his ring bearer Drew, with his tie.
Then back to Kelsey's family home where the girls are getting ready.
Another favorite of mine...
A few more...
Mom and her 3 daughters... a memorable moment. So, glad I could be a part of it.
Here's Kels, about to get on the bus/coach (our stylish transportation).
I just love this shot!
Kelsey and her Daddy...
Some details...
Isn't she beautiful...
Unwinding before the big moment. This is a fun shot.
The Ring Bearers ~ nephews Drew and Gavyn (who was just over 3 months old ).
First Kiss...
Here's Drew again... What a little honey.
Their first moment alone as husband and wife. Well... almost alone.
We had access to the roof top where Dan & Kelsey got married. This is a shot of Kelsey approaching the window we're about to climb out of.
Stunning.
Dan's favorite shot.
One of those fabulous photography moments. Kelsey was looking back, waiting for Dan and I told her to "freeze".... Beautiful!
Love this one.

The next 3 photos were taken at the dance hall where the Bride & Groom took lessons for their "First Dance"

"The Dip" at the end of their first dance. Nicely done guys.

Our last stop for photos was the Legislative Building. A classic location for wedding photos.
Kelsey with "The Boys"

Dan and "The Girls"

Another stunning shot...

Jodi (sister-in-law, and fabulous photographer) found this spot for us. Nice.
A special tribute to Dan's Mom... In lieu of favors, they made a donation to the Cancer Society, in her memory.

This one's for you Dan.
Kelsey, as you can see, was so amazing to work with!
And with such an amazing hotel like The Fort Garry, our options were endless.

A kiss for all to see :)

"Father~Daughter Dance"

Wow, I just love this real moment, when they don't even realize I'm there.

And we can't forget some dance floor shots. The Bride & Groom kept going until the end of the night ~ none of us wanted to stop.

And we end the day.... with a kiss. Congratulations
Mr. & Mrs. Kosman
Thank you again Dan and Kelsey, for having faith in me, and letting me be such a major part of you wedding day :) Love you both.
